Biography

Asia Neupane currently serves as the inaugural Director for Planetary Health and Global Engagement at the Yale School of Nursing. She previously held a dual role at the Yale Office of International Affairs and the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies. She led international programming, partnerships, and institutional engagement with a focus on Latin America and Europe. Previously, Asia supported board relations, alumni engagement, and international initiatives, including at the Yale Center Beijing, during her tenure at the Yale School of Management and Yale’s Office of International Development. Asia received her B.A. and M.A. from Wesleyan University and her Ed.D. from Northeastern University. She is the recipient of a Yale Working Women’s Network award and two Fulbright fellowships in Colombia and Germany. Her more recent academic research focuses on collaborative networks, SDGs, and internationalization in higher education. At Yale, Asia is a fellow and advisor at Silliman College. She is an editor for the Journal of Comparative and International Higher Education and the Journal of International Students and is on the Advisory Board for The Halifax Institute for Global Interdisciplinary Collaboration. Originally from Nepal, Asia has a deep interest in planetary health which has led to her research and educational experiences in sustainable development and environmental health in South Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
