New Study Highlights the Burden of Social Determinants of Health on Suicide Risk Among U.S. Veterans
A new study led by researchers at the National Center for PTSD, VA Connecticut Healthcare System, and Yale School of Medicine, including first author Robert H. Pietrzak, PhD, MPH, provides one of the most comprehensive examinations to date of how cumulative social disadvantage is linked to suicide risk among U.S. military veterans. The findings were published in JAMA Psychiatry.

Yale Review: Bidirectional Intimate Partner Violence Among Service Members and Veterans
A Yale study in Trauma, Violence & Abuse reveals veterans may experience bidirectional intimate partner violence at higher rates than active-duty service members. “Results from this study suggest that veterans may have higher rates of bidirectional intimate partner violence than their service member counterparts, although this finding should be interpreted with caution, given differences in measurement and sampling across studies,” said Elizabeth Coppola, PhD, the paper's first author.
