Yale-VA Cigarette Research
The Menthol and E-Cigarette Study will be conducted through Yale & VA Mental Illness Research Education Clinical Centers. This study will address the potential contribution of menthol to nicotine’s addictive effects. The results of this study may help the development of science based policies that reduce the appeal and the addictive effect of tobacco products.
We are actively looking for smokers not seeking treatment.

What is involved in the Menthol and E-Cigarette study?

- 5 visits to our office at the VA Hospital in West Haven, CT
- A free physical exam
- An IV for the purpose of intravenous nicotine and blood draws
- Use of an E-cigarette that will contain menthol flavor or tobacco flavor
- Compensation up $740.00

Public transportation to the West Haven campus is available via the CT Transit bus line. The New Haven Train Station is 2.75 miles away. Transportation from the train station to the hospital is available via CT Transit bus or by taxi. Parking - while free - is generally at a premium. We recommend that you arrive early to ensure you make it to your appointment in ample time. Shuttles run from the parking lots to the main entrances during normal business hours.

Take the Interstate 91 N/Interstate 95 N ramp to Hartford/New London.
