Erika Carr, PhD, associate professor of psychiatry, has been elected president of the American Psychological Association (APA) Division on the Society for the Psychology of Women.
Carr’s term is from August 2025-August 2026.
Carr is director of the inpatient psychology service and director of the Behavioral Intervention Service at the Connecticut Mental Health Center, where she provides training experiences for psychology fellows from a recovery-oriented perspective and positive behavioral supports for those who experience serious mental illness on the inpatient unit and across outpatient teams.
She has a particular interest in women who experience serious mental illness, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented care.
