Kourtney Koslosky, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry, has been appointed chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Greenwich Hospital. Her appointment is effective October 1, 2025.
Koslosky has served as section chief of Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) since October 2023, leading a dedicated team and overseeing the Crisis Intervention Unit at Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) York St, Behavioral Health Unit at YNHH St Raphael’s Campus, and the Fitkin Psychiatric Observation Unit at YNHH York St; collectively one of the busiest psychiatric emergency departments in the country.
Prior to becoming section chief, Koslosky has been an attending and assistant professor in PES since January 2014. Her passion and commitment to providing exceptional care and advocating for patients has been recognized by her colleagues in both psychiatry and emergency medicine.
Koslosky is a graduate of the Yale Psychiatry Residency, class of 2012, and has been devoted to resident and medical student education throughout her career. Psychiatry residents rotate in PES throughout all years of training, offering unique longitudinal education and mentorship.
Koslosky currently co-directs the PGY-4 didactics and partners closely with other co-leaders of the residency didactics to ensure residents are offered a comprehensive and well-rounded education. She was named faculty sponsor of the Yale Medical Student Psychiatry Association in 2022, a position which serves to provide mentorship, support, and educational events for medical students, as well as participating in the Medical Student Educational Committee. She was selected to participate in the inaugural class of the Yale School of Medicine OAPD Healthcare Leadership Program in 2023, designed to gain essential clinical leadership skills, participating and collaborating with colleagues from other YNHH medical/surgical specialties.
Koslosky has played active roles in developing multiple Clinical Care Pathways for Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at YNHH beginning in 2020. Clinical Care Pathways help promote evidence-based approaches to care delivery and are directly used by clinical providers to help deliver high quality and consistent care. She was selected to represent Greenwich Hospital on the Care Signature Council in October 2020, responsible for prioritizing and approving Care Signature Pathways.
She currently serves on the Board of Continuum of Care, one of the largest organizations in our region serving adults with psychiatric illnesses and developmental disabilities providing residential care and case management, crisis services, and housing supports.
