Overview

  • About the MHS

Yale School of Medicine offers a two-year Master of Health Science (MHS) degree for applicants with biomedical sciences or medical professional degrees (such as MD, MMSc, PharmD, PA, and DNP) or a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of relevant professional experience.

    The MHS degree program includes:

    • a tailored curriculum (30+ credits)
    • Research in Progress seminars
    • mentored research resulting in an original thesis/research publication

There are also mandatory and elective courses from the Yale Investigative Medicine Program and other Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences programs.

  • Why an MHS?

The Yale MHS degree provides rigorous training for future independent investigators and educational leaders that will accelerate their research careers.

Notably, the robust training program promotes diversity of perspectives and interests, including within the physician-scientist and medical educator workforce. There is also a strong mentorship component, including peer-to-peer mentorship.
