Fuehrlein, Pérez Palmer, Wilkins Promoted at VA

Three Yale Department of Psychiatry faculty have been promoted to new leadership roles at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven.

Brian Fuehrlein, MD, PhD, associate professor of psychiatry; Nicolás Pérez Palmer, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry; and Kirsten Wilkins, MD, professor of psychiatry, have been named to the following positions:

  • Fuehrlein: Firm Director for Acute Care, which includes the PER, inpatient psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, and the Recovery Support Program. Fuehrlein is director of the VA CT Psychiatric Emergency Room
  • Pérez Palmer: Firm Director for Integrated Care, which includes Primary Care-Mental Health Integration, Geropsychiatry, and the six VA Community Based Outpatient Clinics.
  • Wilkins: Associate Chief of Mental Health. Wilkins is director of Medical Student Education in the Yale Department of Psychiatry and former Firm Director for Integrated Care at the VA.
