Dear YSM Colleagues,
As Dean Nancy J. Brown, MD, and Deputy Dean Jessica Illuzzi, MD, MS, announced, the YSM Class of 2026 commencement will take place on May 18. This time of year reminds us of the unwavering support our faculty has shown in the training of our outstanding students, and we look forward to celebrating our graduates and the recipients of the annual faculty awards for excellence in medical education with you.
Faculty excellence is highlighted throughout this newsletter. We celebrate colleagues who have recently been promoted, recognizing their contributions to our educational, clinical, and research missions. We also highlight examples of the impact our faculty members have made in demonstrating exemplary patient care and innovative work that inspired meaningful philanthropic support to further clinical care and research.
This issue also provides valuable resources that support your research and clinical work; promotes upcoming career development opportunities and initiatives focused on faculty well-being; and features the latest "What's Your Y?", where Rachel Liu, MD, vice-chair of faculty affairs and professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, reflects on on her why, or what inspires and motivates her.
We remain grateful for your contributions to advancing our missions and our shared commitment to excellence.
Samuel A. Ball, PhD, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs
Robert Rohrbaugh, MD, Deputy Dean for Professionalism and Leadership
