Dear Colleagues and Friends,
This past year, we celebrated growth in our section. We are excited to welcome two new clinician-scholars to Yale Geriatrics: Judith Vick, MD, MPH, and Natalia Festa, MD, MHS. They will undoubtedly continue the tradition of producing patient-oriented research results that result in meaningful improvements in the lives of older persons. We also welcomed four clinical fellows. Read on to learn more about their journey to Yale Geriatrics.
While we have incredible clinical programs, we do not highlight them nearly enough. The Dorothy Adler Geriatric Assessment Center is one such program (read more below). Our section has also produced impactful research—examining sleep and Alzheimer's risk, deprescribing, and aligning surgical decisions with patients' priorities, among other areas.
Lastly, I would like to congratulate our Pepper Center awardees Edward Manning, MD, PhD; Cyprien Rivier, MD, MSc; Alissa Chen, MD, MPH, MHS; and Judith Vick, MD, MPH. I look forward to seeing the excellent work you produce.
Sincerely,
Terri Fried, MD
