  • 21:26supports that are available, which
  • 21:28include backup care through Bright
  • 21:30Horizons.
  • 21:31And it, is the same
  • 21:33as backup care for child
  • 21:34care, which is helping adults,
  • 21:37say, for instance,
  • 21:38hopefully not.
  • 21:40You may break a leg
  • 21:41or, need support after a
  • 21:44surgery. You could call,
  • 21:45backup sup call Bright Horizons
  • 21:48for backup support for yourself
  • 21:50or for the care of
  • 21:51a elderly loved one. Again,
  • 21:54it's a six dollar co
  • 21:55pay in the home
  • 21:57at, ten dot ten hours
  • 21:59per day.
  • 22:00We New Haven or Connecticut
  • 22:03right now, we don't have
  • 22:04access to adult center care,
  • 22:07but we do have it
  • 22:08for in home, which is,
  • 22:10again, a six dollar co
  • 22:11pay. If your loved one
  • 22:13is outside of Connecticut, you
  • 22:15do have the option for,
  • 22:17adult day care
  • 22:19where, twenty five dollar co
  • 22:21pay is
  • 22:22allowed for,
  • 22:24the entire day within the
  • 22:26center.
  • 22:28We also have,
  • 22:31excuse me,
  • 22:33enhanced elder care support through
  • 22:35Optum.
  • 22:36And we have been discussing
  • 22:38this benefit quite a bit,
  • 22:40this last month where you
  • 22:41have up to six hours
  • 22:43of support with a social
  • 22:45worker or
  • 22:47a registered nurse that has
  • 22:51extensive background in support for,
  • 22:55elderly loved ones.
  • 22:56They could connect you to
  • 22:58vetted,
  • 23:00centers
  • 23:01and,
  • 23:02agencies
  • 23:04that can support with,
  • 23:06various resources that you may
  • 23:07need to support your elderly
  • 23:09loved one. They also have
  • 23:11supports for you as a
  • 23:13caregiver.
  • 23:14They could help with financial
  • 23:16and legal and medical concerns,
  • 23:18help you navigate
  • 23:19Medicaid, Medicare.
  • 23:21They could also help with
  • 23:23finding
  • 23:24respite,
  • 23:25which is, also what backup
  • 23:27care can do as far
  • 23:28as that respite care. When
  • 23:30you need a break and
  • 23:31you need someone to be
  • 23:32with mom or dad or
  • 23:33grandmother,
  • 23:34grandfather,
  • 23:36to support while you're taking
  • 23:38that time for yourself.
  • 23:40This is all through,
  • 23:43Optum.
  • 23:44Again, it's, their care solutions
  • 23:47for caregiving,
  • 23:48and I could share a
  • 23:50video that we,
  • 23:52of a webinar we just
  • 23:53held at the top of
  • 23:54the month. I will share
  • 23:55that as well with this
  • 23:57PowerPoint
  • 23:58slides.
  • 24:02Other benefits that we also
  • 24:04have, again, with, Sittercity through
  • 24:07Bright Horizons,
  • 24:08you have access to the
  • 24:09nannies, housekeepers,
  • 24:11pet sitting, dog walkers.
  • 24:13We have over seventy some
  • 24:15lactation rooms on campus
  • 24:17where,
  • 24:18parents can,
  • 24:20express milk
  • 24:22or breastfeed in privacy
  • 24:24and quiet
  • 24:25as they're caring for and
  • 24:27pro providing nourishment to their
  • 24:29little ones.
  • 24:30We also have the monthly
  • 24:31caregiver
  • 24:32education that is available,
  • 24:35telephonically
  • 24:36through Optum.
  • 24:38And, also, we have Optum
  • 24:39emotional well-being to support your
  • 24:42emotional and mental health support
  • 24:44where we have dedicated counselors
  • 24:46on campus
  • 24:48where you can, set up
  • 24:49appointment to meet with them
  • 24:51thirty minutes or sixty minutes
  • 24:54around the array of,
  • 24:56concerns. It could be anxiety,
  • 24:58depression, work conflict,
  • 25:01grief support,
  • 25:03just navigating your career. They're
  • 25:05here to help.
  • 25:07And it usually only take
  • 25:08about twenty four to forty
  • 25:10eight hours to get in
  • 25:11to see them.
  • 25:16If you have any questions
  • 25:18or would like additional information,
  • 25:20please do not hesitate to
  • 25:22reach out to work life
  • 25:24at yale dot e d
  • 25:25u. Again, it's work life
  • 25:27at yale dot e d
  • 25:28u.
  • 25:29And, also, once I,
  • 25:32send out my
  • 25:34email to Esther,
  • 25:36there's also a link where
  • 25:37you could set up a
  • 25:38one on one consultation, a
  • 25:40thirty minute consultation,
  • 25:41whether it's elder care,
  • 25:43backup care, looking for childcare,
  • 25:46or just how to navigate
  • 25:48work and life. You could
  • 25:49reach out to us.
  • 25:57Thank you. Thank
  • 25:58you so much for that
  • 25:59great information.
  • 26:01We only have one question
  • 26:03in the chat right now,
  • 26:04so I'll let you address
  • 26:05it. It's, is there any
  • 26:07support for elder
  • 26:08elderly loved ones that live
  • 26:10in another country?
  • 26:13I will have to check
  • 26:14and see if we do
  • 26:16have those supports.
  • 26:18How expansive is Optum,
  • 26:21and I could get back
  • 26:22with that individual.
  • 26:25Okay. Should they, just send
  • 26:26you a email? Yes. If
  • 26:28you send the email to
  • 26:29work life at yale dot
  • 26:31e d u, I could
  • 26:32do some research on that
  • 26:34for you.
  • 26:35Great. Thank you.
  • 26:37Next, we'll have Karina.
  • 26:40I'm sorry. That's your last
  • 26:41name. Oh, okay.
  • 26:44Next time, we'll have I
  • 26:45mean, next, we'll have Catherine,
  • 26:47join us, and she will
  • 26:49talk to us about the
  • 26:50college coach benefit.
  • 26:52Great. Well, thank you so
  • 26:53much. You guys have a
  • 26:54lot of great benefits,
  • 26:56and I hope that, you
  • 26:57guys take advantage of all
  • 26:59of those because those are
  • 27:00awesome.
  • 27:01Let me go ahead and
  • 27:02share my screen, and then
  • 27:03we'll get started talking about
  • 27:05College Coach.
  • 27:07And then I just wanna
  • 27:08confirm that you guys can
  • 27:09see that.
  • 27:12We can. Thank you.
  • 27:13Great.
  • 27:15Okay. Hi again, everyone.
  • 27:16Thanks for having me today
  • 27:18and giving me the opportunity
  • 27:20to tell you all about
  • 27:21College Coach.
  • 27:23College Coach is one of
  • 27:24the most popular benefits we
  • 27:25offer. I know you heard
  • 27:26a lot of them,
  • 27:28earlier,
  • 27:29but this is one of
  • 27:30our popular ones. And in
  • 27:31the next few slides,
  • 27:33you'll start to see why.
  • 27:34Your college coach benefit provides
  • 27:37support at multiple stages of
  • 27:39the college journey.
  • 27:40That,
  • 27:41that can start as early
  • 27:42as saving for college,
  • 27:45when your children are young
  • 27:46and continue all the way
  • 27:48through,
  • 27:49choosing schools, completing college applications,
  • 27:52and understanding financial aid and
  • 27:54scholarship opportunities.
  • 27:56And the best part is
  • 27:57that you're not navigating this
  • 27:59alone. You'll have access to
  • 28:01your own highly experienced team
  • 28:03of experts at Bright Horizons
  • 28:05College Coach who are there
  • 28:07to guide you every step
  • 28:08of the way.
  • 28:09Oh, let me move this.
  • 28:14Okay. So the college planning
  • 28:16process has definitely become more
  • 28:18complex over the years.
  • 28:20Some of you may have
  • 28:21gone to college twenty or
  • 28:23even thirty years ago when
  • 28:25there were,
  • 28:26fewer choices,
  • 28:28applications were simpler, and costs
  • 28:30were a lot different than
  • 28:31what they are today.
  • 28:34Others of you may have
  • 28:35students who will be the
  • 28:36first in your family to
  • 28:37attend college, which can make
  • 28:38the process feel completely new.
  • 28:41Either way, we understand that
  • 28:43families often need guidance as
  • 28:45they navigate all of this.
  • 28:47That's why your employer has
  • 28:49partnered with Bright Horizons to
  • 28:50provide,
  • 28:51the college coach benefit.
  • 28:53This is a fully subsidized
  • 28:55benefit, which means there's no
  • 28:57cost to you. So, again,
  • 28:58fully subsidized.
  • 29:00You don't pay anything.
  • 29:01Through college coach, you have
  • 29:03access to expert advisors who
  • 29:05can help through each stage
  • 29:07of the college planning process.
  • 29:09And one of the things
  • 29:10we hear most often from
  • 29:11families is how much time
  • 29:13it saves them and how
  • 29:14much it helps reduce
  • 29:16the stress that can come
  • 29:18with planning for college.
  • 29:20As mentioned earlier at the
  • 29:21top of, the hour,
  • 29:24as a Bright Horizons employee
  • 29:25myself, I was able to
  • 29:26use college the College Coach
  • 29:28benefit,
  • 29:29for my own family.
  • 29:31My son, again, is seventeen
  • 29:32and is about to leave
  • 29:34the nest, and he's currently
  • 29:36in the process of trying
  • 29:37to
  • 29:38decide where he'd like to
  • 29:40go.
  • 29:41The college process is very
  • 29:42different from when I went
  • 29:44to college, and honestly, it
  • 29:45felt like I was going
  • 29:47through it all over again.
  • 29:48And once we started we
  • 29:50we started working with College
  • 29:51Coach when our son was
  • 29:52still in middle school,
  • 29:54because we were saving for
  • 29:55college, but we weren't sure
  • 29:57if we were saving enough
  • 29:59or if we started too
  • 30:00late.
  • 30:01And also,
  • 30:03just it was on our
  • 30:04mind. It was during COVID
  • 30:05times, and we were like,
  • 30:06let's take this opportunity to
  • 30:08sit down and figure out
  • 30:10where this kid's gonna live
  • 30:11next, basically.
  • 30:14Our coach reassured us that,
  • 30:16it's never too late and
  • 30:18helped us understand the different
  • 30:20options available to us.
  • 30:22As our son got older,
  • 30:25they also helped us think
  • 30:26about which colleges
  • 30:28might be a good fit
  • 30:29for his goal of becoming
  • 30:31a CRNA,
  • 30:33when we should start visiting
  • 30:34schools, and when to begin
  • 30:36the application process. Also, they,
  • 30:39they gave us, like, what
  • 30:41to look for when we're
  • 30:43touring colleges and what questions
  • 30:44to ask.
  • 30:46One thing we learned through
  • 30:47College Coach,
  • 30:48that we hadn't known before
  • 30:49and we probably wouldn't have
  • 30:50even found out about
  • 30:52is the WUI program. So
  • 30:54WUI stands for,
  • 30:56Western Undergraduate
  • 30:58Exchange, which offers tuition discounts
  • 31:00at participating
  • 31:02schools here, across the western
  • 31:04US. So since we're on
  • 31:06the West Coast,
  • 31:07that really helped us expand
  • 31:09our son's list of possible
  • 31:11colleges to consider outside of
  • 31:13the state of California.
  • 31:19Okay. So now let's talk
  • 31:20about,
  • 31:22the part that gets everyone's
  • 31:24attention. So paying for college.
  • 31:27Another area where we've seen
  • 31:28a lot of recent changes
  • 31:30is with college financing. And
  • 31:32many of you may have
  • 31:33heard of the FAFSA, the
  • 31:34free application for federal student
  • 31:36aid,
  • 31:37recently went through its biggest
  • 31:39overhaul in about forty years.
  • 31:41So these updates bring both
  • 31:42new opportunities and some new
  • 31:44challenges for families, actually.
  • 31:46So for example, one positive
  • 31:48change is that the four
  • 31:49zero one k contributions
  • 31:51are no longer counted as
  • 31:52part of,
  • 31:54the parents' income in the
  • 31:55financial aid calculation.
  • 31:57And that can create opportunities
  • 31:59for families to potentially shield
  • 32:01some income by increasing retirement
  • 32:04contributions,
  • 32:05and our advisers can definitely
  • 32:07help you understand exactly how
  • 32:09that works.
  • 32:11There are also some changes
  • 32:13that are a little less
  • 32:14favorable for families.
  • 32:16One example is that FAFSA
  • 32:17no longer accounts for having
  • 32:18multiple children in college at
  • 32:20the same time.
  • 32:22This is what many families
  • 32:23used to call,
  • 32:24the sibling discount.
  • 32:26However, some colleges still consider
  • 32:28that factor because they use
  • 32:30an additional financial aid application
  • 32:32called the CSS
  • 32:34profile, and that stands for
  • 32:35college
  • 32:36scholarship service profile
  • 32:38and is separate from the
  • 32:39federal FAFSA. So our advisers
  • 32:41can help identify those schools
  • 32:43when that might be beneficial
  • 32:45to, you and your family.
  • 32:47Another way our team supports,
  • 32:50families is through financial
  • 32:52aid appeals.
  • 32:53Many of our college coach
  • 32:54advisors are former financial aid
  • 32:57officers and, collectively,
  • 32:59they've reviewed thousands of appeals.
  • 33:01They know how to frame
  • 33:03requests and document circumstances
  • 33:05in ways that gives families
  • 33:06the best possible chance for
  • 33:08success.
  • 33:10We also help families look
  • 33:11at the bigger financial picture,
  • 33:12things like, savings,
  • 33:14cash flow,
  • 33:16payment plans,
  • 33:17and loan options so they
  • 33:18can better understand how colleges
  • 33:20might real how college might
  • 33:22realistically,
  • 33:24fit into their financial plans.
  • 33:27And, of course,
  • 33:28college costs continue to rise,
  • 33:30which can be very stressful
  • 33:32for families.
  • 33:34One of the ways we
  • 33:35help is by sharing strategies
  • 33:38that can help reduce overall,
  • 33:40college costs.
  • 33:42Because of their experience working
  • 33:43in financial aid offices,
  • 33:46our advisors understand how aid
  • 33:48formulas works, how schools prioritize
  • 33:50scholarships, and how students can
  • 33:52position themselves,
  • 33:54to receive stronger offers.
  • 33:56For example, we can help
  • 33:57students identify colleges where they
  • 33:59may be,
  • 34:01there may be stronger institutional
  • 34:03may be a stronger institutional
  • 34:05priority,
  • 34:06which can often translate into
  • 34:08more scholarship opportunities.
  • 34:11And finally, we also recognize
  • 34:12that, a traditional four year
  • 34:14college path may not be
  • 34:16the right fit for every
  • 34:17student.
  • 34:18College Coach offers guidance on
  • 34:20a wide range of post
  • 34:22high school options, including,
  • 34:24two year programs,
  • 34:25short term certificates,
  • 34:27hands on training programs, and
  • 34:29other pathways.
  • 34:30Ultimately,
  • 34:31the goal of college the
  • 34:32college coach program is to
  • 34:34support
  • 34:35families wherever they are in
  • 34:36the process and help them
  • 34:38make informed decisions about the
  • 34:39path that's right for their
  • 34:41student.
  • 34:45The college coach program is
  • 34:47multifaceted, and we provide support
  • 34:49in three main ways.
  • 34:50First, and probably the most
  • 34:52valuable part of our program,
  • 34:53is access to the that
  • 34:54team of college coach experts.
  • 34:57We have more than eighty
  • 34:58advisers of over
  • 35:00nine hundred years of combined
  • 35:02experience in college admissions
  • 35:04and financial aid.
  • 35:05They provide one on one
  • 35:06guidance on topics like choosing
  • 35:08colleges, the admissions process,
  • 35:11financial aid strategies,
  • 35:13and essay reviews and more.
  • 35:16When you schedule an appointment,
  • 35:18you'll be matched with either
  • 35:19an admissions expert or a
  • 35:21financial expert
  • 35:22depending on what you want
  • 35:24to discuss.
  • 35:25These sessions are typically about
  • 35:26forty five minutes long and
  • 35:28by phone, and they're designed
  • 35:29to focus on the questions
  • 35:30that matter most to your
  • 35:32family.
  • 35:33You can also use our
  • 35:35online quick question tool if
  • 35:36you have something simple you'd
  • 35:38like to ask. I know
  • 35:38that I use this like
  • 35:39crazy because I was like,
  • 35:40what about this? What about
  • 35:42that? And they were really
  • 35:43quick to receive,
  • 35:44to send out a response,
  • 35:45and they'll get back to
  • 35:46you within about forty eight
  • 35:47hours.
  • 35:49Sometimes
  • 35:50people
  • 35:52ask if they can meet
  • 35:53with the same adviser every
  • 35:54time.
  • 35:56The answer is usually no
  • 35:58and,
  • 35:58actually, that's intentional.
  • 36:00Our system matches you with
  • 36:02the expert who is best
  • 36:03suited for the topic that
  • 36:05you're wanting to,
  • 36:06discuss.
  • 36:07Each advisers tracks the information
  • 36:09from your previous conversations.
  • 36:11So when you connect again,
  • 36:12the next expert can pick
  • 36:14up, right where you left
  • 36:15off and may even offer
  • 36:17new ideas or perspective
  • 36:19perspectives
  • 36:20to consider.
  • 36:21It's a very dynamic system
  • 36:22that works extremely
  • 36:24well for families.
  • 36:27The second way we support
  • 36:28families is through our workshop
  • 36:30series,
  • 36:31and these sessions cover topics
  • 36:33across every stage of the
  • 36:34college journey from, again, saving
  • 36:36for college to the admission
  • 36:38strategies and financial aid,
  • 36:40planning.
  • 36:41Many of these workshops are
  • 36:43offered live where you can
  • 36:44ask questions in real time.
  • 36:46And if you can attend,
  • 36:48that's totally fine too because
  • 36:49the workshops are recorded, and
  • 36:51then you could go ahead
  • 36:52and watch them, on demand.
  • 36:55And the third piece of
  • 36:56the program is access to
  • 36:57a wide range of online
  • 36:59tools and resources.
  • 37:00This includes,
  • 37:02videos, college cost,
  • 37:04cost calculators,
  • 37:06FAQs, and other helpful materials.
  • 37:08When you set up your
  • 37:10college coach account, you can
  • 37:11also grant access to others
  • 37:13involved in the process
  • 37:15such as another parent,
  • 37:16your grandparents,
  • 37:18and, of course, even your
  • 37:20students so they can take
  • 37:21a look at those resources
  • 37:22as well.
  • 37:24One thing we,
  • 37:25hear often from families is
  • 37:27how much time the program
  • 37:29saves them. In fact, many
  • 37:30people say that one hour
  • 37:32spent with college coach college
  • 37:33coach adviser
  • 37:34can save you around five
  • 37:36hours of trying to research
  • 37:37everything on your own, and
  • 37:39no one wants to do
  • 37:40that. Unless you're my husband
  • 37:41who likes to research. So
  • 37:43it was kinda like, oh,
  • 37:44we have this person that's
  • 37:46gonna do it for me.
  • 37:47I thought it was great.
  • 37:48With College Coach, the information
  • 37:50and support you need are
  • 37:51always right at your fingertips
  • 37:53or just a phone call
  • 37:54away.
  • 37:58Okay.
  • 37:59Bright Horizons College Coach stands
  • 38:01out from school counselors and
  • 38:02other college advising programs. I
  • 38:04know that you do have
  • 38:05your high school counselors,
  • 38:07but,
  • 38:08they're different in a few
  • 38:10important ways, especially when it
  • 38:11comes to expertise,
  • 38:13structure, and access.
  • 38:16First, our coaches are true
  • 38:18higher education experts. They can
  • 38:20bring, years of experience working
  • 38:22in college admissions and financial
  • 38:23aid offices
  • 38:24so they understand the process
  • 38:26from the inside.
  • 38:28In fact, families who work
  • 38:29with college coach see about
  • 38:30an eighty eight percent
  • 38:32acceptance rate to one of
  • 38:34their top choice schools. Another
  • 38:35important point is that our
  • 38:36advisers are Bright Horizons employees
  • 38:39and are not affiliated with
  • 38:41any particular college or university.
  • 38:43So what this means is
  • 38:44that the guidance they provide
  • 38:46is completely unbiased and focused
  • 38:48on what's best for your
  • 38:49student and not necessarily steering,
  • 38:51applications towards any specific school.
  • 38:55Some families also consider purchasing
  • 38:57outside tools or programs to
  • 38:58help with things like building
  • 39:00college lists or reviewing essays,
  • 39:03and many of those platforms
  • 39:04are AI powered.
  • 39:06And the difference is at
  • 39:07College Coach, we take a
  • 39:08diff a whole different approach.
  • 39:10Our program is human centered
  • 39:11and expert driven.
  • 39:13Our advisers work directly with
  • 39:15students to help them think
  • 39:16through their options,
  • 39:18develop strong college lists, and
  • 39:20shape essays that reflect their
  • 39:22authentic voice.
  • 39:24Don't get me wrong. I
  • 39:25love technology, and technology
  • 39:27can be a very helpful
  • 39:28thing. But when it comes
  • 39:29to something as important as
  • 39:30college planning and trying to
  • 39:31figure out where your son
  • 39:33or your child is gonna
  • 39:34go next, most families really
  • 39:36value having a real expert
  • 39:39guiding them through that process.
  • 39:41When families you families use
  • 39:43their college coach benefit, they
  • 39:44receive high touch personalized support.
  • 39:47The guidance is holistic and
  • 39:49strategic,
  • 39:50designed to support your family's
  • 39:51goals and reduce the stress
  • 39:53that often comes with college
  • 39:54planning.
  • 39:56In other words, this isn't
  • 39:57a one size fits all
  • 39:58program. Our team works with
  • 40:00each family individually
  • 40:02to help them navigate the
  • 40:03process in,
  • 40:06a way that feels manageable,
  • 40:07informed, and aligned
  • 40:09with their students' goals.
  • 40:14Okay.
  • 40:15This one is a very
  • 40:18helpful slide. So when families
  • 40:20start with college coach,
  • 40:22during the high school years,
  • 40:23our guidance tends to focus
  • 40:25on the different things depending
  • 40:27on the student's grade level.
  • 40:29So, we're just gonna start
  • 40:30at the beginning of those
  • 40:31four years. So freshman year.
  • 40:33If students begin working with
  • 40:35college coach early in high
  • 40:37school, they can make thoughtful
  • 40:38decisions about their coursework
  • 40:41and, extracurricular
  • 40:42activities with future college admissions
  • 40:44in mind.
  • 40:45During freshman year, our advisors
  • 40:47help students start thinking about
  • 40:48their goals and begin introducing
  • 40:50the overall college planning process.
  • 40:53We also talk about topics
  • 40:54like,
  • 40:55summer opportunities,
  • 40:56early thoughts around those standardized
  • 40:58testing,
  • 40:59organizational
  • 41:00tips, and even how to
  • 41:02make the most of future
  • 41:03college visits.
  • 41:05Starting early also gives our
  • 41:07college finance experts the opportunity
  • 41:09to work with families
  • 41:11on understanding how merit scholarships
  • 41:14work and how students,
  • 41:15high school choices can help
  • 41:17position them to be competitive
  • 41:19for those awards down the
  • 41:20road.
  • 41:21Overall, the freshman year is
  • 41:23really about building a strong
  • 41:24foundation for the years ahead.
  • 41:28Now let's take a look
  • 41:29at your sophomore year.
  • 41:30At this point, students have
  • 41:32a full year of high
  • 41:33school behind them, so the
  • 41:34focus starts to shift a
  • 41:36little more towards their achievements
  • 41:38and how things like grades,
  • 41:40course rigor,
  • 41:42extracurricular
  • 41:43activities
  • 41:44may shape their, future college
  • 41:46applications.
  • 41:47Our advisers
  • 41:49continue helping students think ahead
  • 41:51by planning their junior year
  • 41:52curriculum,
  • 41:53exploring,
  • 41:54extracurricular involvement again, and starting
  • 41:57conversations about those standardized testing
  • 41:59and the strategies to take
  • 42:01them.
  • 42:02This is also a great
  • 42:03time for students to begin
  • 42:05researching colleges.
  • 42:07And if possible, you can
  • 42:08go ahead and make those
  • 42:09informal college campus visits just
  • 42:11to kind of feel, the
  • 42:12different the different types of
  • 42:14schools that are out there.
  • 42:15And if your family,
  • 42:17hasn't already connected with,
  • 42:20one of our college coach
  • 42:21finance experts,
  • 42:22sophomore year can also be
  • 42:24a good time to start
  • 42:25those conversations and begin learning
  • 42:27more about the college
  • 42:29financing process.
  • 42:35Now,
  • 42:36okay. Junior year. Okay. This
  • 42:38is when
  • 42:39families start to realize, okay,
  • 42:40it's getting real,
  • 42:42because I know that's what
  • 42:43I was thinking. And this
  • 42:44is when the college planning
  • 42:46really starts to take shape.
  • 42:48This is typically when, we
  • 42:50begin building the student's college
  • 42:52list. Our advisers help identify
  • 42:54schools that are a good
  • 42:55fit and organize them based
  • 42:56on likelihood of admissions.
  • 42:59At the same time, our
  • 43:00college coach finance experts can
  • 43:02help review
  • 43:03the list,
  • 43:04from a financial perspective,
  • 43:06looking at things like affordability
  • 43:09and opportunities
  • 43:10for those school based merit
  • 43:11scholarships.
  • 43:14Junior year is also when
  • 43:15we start working more closely
  • 43:17with students on things like
  • 43:19self assessment activities and early
  • 43:21essay preparations
  • 43:22so they feel ready when
  • 43:23the application season begins.
  • 43:26Other areas we focus on
  • 43:27during this year include reviewing
  • 43:29those extracurricular
  • 43:30involvements,
  • 43:32standardized,
  • 43:33testing strategies
  • 43:34and timelines,
  • 43:36and beginning private scholarship searches,
  • 43:38and thinking ahead to
  • 43:40meaningful summer activities.
  • 43:42We also help students
  • 43:44plan for those teacher recommendations,
  • 43:47build relationship with those teachers
  • 43:49so it's not awkward when
  • 43:50you ask them for a
  • 43:51recommendation,
  • 43:52understand their potential eligibility
  • 43:54for need based aid, and
  • 43:57share tips on how to
  • 43:58make college visits as productive
  • 44:00as possible.
  • 44:01Overall, the junior year is
  • 44:03really about
  • 44:06putting all the pieces together
  • 44:08so students feel prepared heading
  • 44:10into the application season.
  • 44:12Okay. And finally, homestretch
  • 44:14senior year. At this stage,
  • 44:17the goal is to guide
  • 44:18students through the final steps
  • 44:20of the process with a
  • 44:22clear deadline driven plan to
  • 44:24help them stay organized and
  • 44:26on track. Our advisors support
  • 44:28students through all those important
  • 44:29final pieces,
  • 44:30things like, finishing any last,
  • 44:33standardized tests, polishing activity
  • 44:36lists and essays, preparing for
  • 44:38interviews, and making sure they're
  • 44:40maximizing
  • 44:41scholarship opportunities.
  • 44:42And, of course, we help
  • 44:44students make sure everything is
  • 44:46complete and ready before those
  • 44:47application deadlines arrive. It's really
  • 44:49about helping,
  • 44:51them cross that finish line
  • 44:52with confidence and submit their
  • 44:54application
  • 44:55feeling prepared and proud of
  • 44:57the work they've done.
  • 44:59And finally, decision time. Once
  • 45:01those decisions start coming in,
  • 45:03congratulations.
  • 45:05It's a very exciting moment
  • 45:06for families, but it can
  • 45:07also come with a lot
  • 45:08of questions. And so that
  • 45:10support that we offer doesn't
  • 45:12end with the acceptance when
  • 45:13the acceptance letters arrive. Your
  • 45:15college coach advisers are still
  • 45:17there to help your family
  • 45:18think through the options,
  • 45:20consider wait list if those
  • 45:22do come in, and make
  • 45:23the final college decision with
  • 45:24confidence.
  • 45:25The goal is to help
  • 45:26your family choose the college
  • 45:28that helps,
  • 45:30best
  • 45:31with the best fit overall,
  • 45:32both academically
  • 45:34and financially.
  • 45:38Families who use Bright Horizons
  • 45:39College Coach benefit consistently report
  • 45:41a very positive and reassuring
  • 45:43experience,
  • 45:44especially during the critical senior
  • 45:46year of high school. In
  • 45:47a recent survey, ninety six
  • 45:49percent of families said they
  • 45:50would recommend College Coach to
  • 45:51a colleague.
  • 45:53We also found that sixty
  • 45:54five six percent of students
  • 45:56ultimately attend a college that
  • 45:58was recommended through the College
  • 45:59Coach process,
  • 46:00and eighty five percent are
  • 46:01admitted to one of their
  • 46:03top choice schools.
  • 46:04You've already heard my personal
  • 46:05experience earlier in the in
  • 46:07the presentation, and I truly
  • 46:09cannot say enough good things
  • 46:11about this benefit.
  • 46:13It saved us hours of
  • 46:14doing research ourselves, and it
  • 46:15truly felt like we had
  • 46:16our own team of experts
  • 46:17ready to answer all of
  • 46:18our questions.
  • 46:20What we hear most often
  • 46:22from families is that College
  • 46:23Coach helps reduce stress while
  • 46:25also helping students make thoughtful,
  • 46:27well informed decisions
  • 46:29about their future.
  • 46:30Ultimately, the program is designed
  • 46:32to support both students and
  • 46:34parents every step of the
  • 46:35way and help families feel
  • 46:36confident as they navigate that
  • 46:38college journey.
  • 46:41Okay. So getting started. Super
  • 46:43duper easy. You have access
  • 46:45to the Bright Horizons,
  • 46:46through Bright to Bright Horizons

  • 46:55new a new user,
  • 46:57you would just click join
  • 46:58today to get started. This
  • 46:59is also where you would
  • 47:00find all of the other
  • 47:01benefits that we offer, that

  • 47:06Once you're registered and have
  • 47:08created an account, you will
  • 47:09see your dashboard. Again, this
  • 47:11is where you would find
  • 47:12all the benefits offered through
  • 47:13Bright Horizons that were mentioned
  • 47:14earlier.
  • 47:15But and this example is,
  • 47:19an one that might look
  • 47:21a little bit different
  • 47:22from what you might see.
  • 47:23It just depends on what
  • 47:24your employer offers. So you
  • 47:26would click my benefits on
  • 47:28the top bar to see
  • 47:29a drop down of all
  • 47:30your benefits and click on
  • 47:31college coach, or you can
  • 47:32look to the center of
  • 47:33the screen where you will
  • 47:35also find a college coach
  • 47:36option there. You then click
  • 47:37on the yellow button that
  • 47:38says schedule now, but you're
  • 47:40not scheduling anything yet. This
  • 47:42simply takes you to the
  • 47:43area where you,
  • 47:45have access to the college
  • 47:47coach benefits.
  • 47:50Okay. This slide shows what
  • 47:52the college coach portal looks
  • 47:53like once you've logged in.
  • 47:55So I'm just gonna go
  • 47:56really briefly,
  • 47:58give you a quick tour
  • 47:59of that navigation across the
  • 48:01top bar. The home tab,
  • 48:02obviously, takes you back home
  • 48:03to your, main dashboard.
  • 48:05Under presentations, you'll find upcoming
  • 48:07webinars as well as those
  • 48:09on demand recordings
  • 48:10that I mentioned earlier.
  • 48:12The appointments tab is where
  • 48:13you can schedule your one
  • 48:14on one meeting with either
  • 48:16an admissions or finance expert.
  • 48:18And the question tab is,
  • 48:20where it takes you to
  • 48:21submit that quick question to
  • 48:22receive a response from the
  • 48:24team within forty eight hours.
  • 48:26In this example, you'll see
  • 48:28essay reviews,
  • 48:30listed in the navigation. I
  • 48:31wanna note that this feature
  • 48:33becomes available only when your
  • 48:35child reaches their junior year
  • 48:36of high school,
  • 48:38since that's typically when essay
  • 48:39writing, for college
  • 48:43list tab is where advisors
  • 48:44and students can work together
  • 48:46on building and refining a
  • 48:47list of potential colleges.
  • 48:49And next, the resource library,
  • 48:51which includes
  • 48:52helpful tools, videos, those calculators,
  • 48:55and guides to support families
  • 48:56through your whole college planning
  • 48:58process.
  • 48:59And finally, the benefit overview
  • 49:00tab is where you can
  • 49:01find details,
  • 49:02specific to your employer's college
  • 49:05coach benefit. For example,
  • 49:07it'll outline things on how
  • 49:08many essay reviews
  • 49:10are included for your student
  • 49:12and any other programs that
  • 49:13feature,
  • 49:14features available through your organization.
  • 49:17And then if you wanna
  • 49:18provide access to college coach,
  • 49:20resources,
  • 49:21to your student or other
  • 49:22family members, you could do
  • 49:24so by clicking the little
  • 49:25person icon at the top.
  • 49:30On the previous slide, I
  • 49:31did mention the resource library,
  • 49:32and this slide shows an
  • 49:34example of what you could
  • 49:35find there. The resources are
  • 49:37curated based on your student's
  • 49:39graduation year, so the information
  • 49:41you see is tailored to
  • 49:42what will be most helpful
  • 49:44at the stage of the
  • 49:45college planning process.
  • 49:47If you have more than
  • 49:48one student, you'll see the
  • 49:49individual tabs for each child,
  • 49:51like in the example here
  • 49:52for Mary and Jacob. So
  • 49:54the resources can be customized
  • 49:56for each of your students.
  • 49:57If your student isn't listed,
  • 49:59again, you can go return
  • 50:00to your account dashboard, click
  • 50:02on account in the top
  • 50:03right hand corner, and add,
  • 50:05family members to your profile
  • 50:07on the left side, and
  • 50:08you'll see, all the available
  • 50:10resources.
  • 50:11You can browse those topics
  • 50:12directly or use this quick
  • 50:14search tool,
  • 50:16to find resources related to
  • 50:17the specific topic you're interested
  • 50:19in.
  • 50:22Within the resource library, you
  • 50:24can also search for topics
  • 50:25like tutoring, test preparation, and
  • 50:28other partner services.
  • 50:29This section includes resources and
  • 50:32discounts available through college coach
  • 50:34partner organizations
  • 50:35that support students with things
  • 50:37like the test prep, tutoring,
  • 50:39and mentoring in research opportunities.
  • 50:42Some of the partners you
  • 50:43may see listed include, Arbor
  • 50:45Bridge, Revolution Prep for some
  • 50:47tutoring, and Polygence.
  • 50:52Getting started with college coach
  • 50:54is easy like I just
  • 50:55mentioned. So go ahead, register
  • 50:56through that Bright Horizons portal,
  • 50:58add your students' information, and
  • 51:00then jump right in, whether
  • 51:02that's attending a webinar,
  • 51:04checking out the resource library,
  • 51:05or scheduling a one on
  • 51:06one appointment with one of
  • 51:08our experts.
  • 51:09I do also wanna just
  • 51:10piggyback onto all the benefits
  • 51:11that,
  • 51:12were mentioned with Bright Horizons.
  • 51:14This is where you might
  • 51:15wanna
  • 51:17register all of the people
  • 51:18that you think would benefit
  • 51:20from Bright Horizons,
  • 51:22benefits
  • 51:23just because when you need
  • 51:24that backup care, you don't
  • 51:26wanna be putting in all
  • 51:27their information
  • 51:29when you absolutely need it.
  • 51:31So,
  • 51:32to just prep yourself, put
  • 51:33in that information right away.
  • 51:36Thanks for spending time with
  • 51:37me today, and I hope
  • 51:38you guys, explore the program
  • 51:40and see how out helpful
  • 51:41it can be to your
  • 51:42family.
  • 51:44Thank you, Catherine. Thank you.
  • 51:45I also just wanna say
  • 51:46College Coach
  • 51:48was super helpful for me.
  • 51:49I also have a seventeen
  • 51:50year old going into college
  • 51:52Yay.
  • 51:52Next year.
  • 51:54So I don't know what
  • 51:55I would have done without,
  • 51:56College Coach. It's truly the
  • 51:58best,
  • 51:59and I recommend it to
  • 52:00everyone.
  • 52:02We do have a few
  • 52:03questions in the chat that,
  • 52:04we'll just go through.
  • 52:06So the first one is,
  • 52:07at what student grade level
  • 52:09would you recommend approaching the
  • 52:10college coach,
  • 52:12college coach program?
  • 52:14I'm sorry. Can you repeat
  • 52:15that?
  • 52:16At what student grade level
  • 52:18would you recommend approaching the
  • 52:20college coach program?
  • 52:23I don't know. Like, I
  • 52:24feel like
  • 52:26at birth.
  • 52:27Right? Just because it's we
  • 52:28have children that are the
  • 52:29same age. I feel like
  • 52:31once,
  • 52:32your child
  • 52:34is on their way, you
  • 52:35start thinking about all of
  • 52:36those different things including college,
  • 52:38and you don't think,
  • 52:40you you think that it's
  • 52:41so far away but then
  • 52:42in the blink of an
  • 52:43eye, like, we're sending them
  • 52:44off, we're kicking them out
  • 52:45of the house.
  • 52:47But,
  • 52:48I would recommend as as,
  • 52:50you know, as early as
  • 52:52infancy just because you can
  • 52:54start talking to those college
  • 52:56coach finance experts
  • 52:58to help you decide, well,
  • 52:59what's the best savings plan
  • 53:01for me? Are these savings
  • 53:02plans really worth it? How
  • 53:04can I which saving plan
  • 53:05has the most yield to
  • 53:07just get you prepared? Because
  • 53:08I feel like you're never
  • 53:09really fully prepared for college.
  • 53:12But I say as soon
  • 53:13as soon as you can.
  • 53:16Thank you. Our next question
  • 53:18is, do we get the
  • 53:18same adviser through the two
  • 53:20to three years with college
  • 53:21coach?
  • 53:23Oh, like I mentioned earlier,
  • 53:24you you don't.
  • 53:26You might.
  • 53:27It just really depends on
  • 53:28the questions that you're asking.
  • 53:29So if you have,
  • 53:31questions about,
  • 53:34like, say your sophomore when
  • 53:35your child's a sophomore and
  • 53:37you want to,
  • 53:39plan their classes
  • 53:40for
  • 53:41their junior and senior years
  • 53:43to try and,
  • 53:45build up their transcript and,
  • 53:47so colleges look at the
  • 53:48classes that they're taking.
  • 53:52You will meet with
  • 53:54a college coach,
  • 53:55like admissions officer with that
  • 53:57to to help build that.
  • 53:58Or if you have questions
  • 53:59about finances, you'll meet with
  • 54:01a finance expert. Honestly, I
  • 54:03spoke to or we spoke
  • 54:04to
  • 54:05different
  • 54:07college coaches,
  • 54:08and,
  • 54:09it didn't really seem to
  • 54:10matter that we were speaking
  • 54:11to someone different every single
  • 54:13time just because they all
  • 54:14have a wealth of information.
  • 54:15And like I mentioned earlier,
  • 54:18they might have
  • 54:20other tips and tricks or
  • 54:21perspectives.
  • 54:22So it's kind of it's
  • 54:23it's a good thing, I
  • 54:24think, to to meet with
  • 54:26different people. And then again,
  • 54:27they take, great notes. They
  • 54:30the person that you're gonna
  • 54:31meet with next will take
  • 54:32a look at the notes
  • 54:33from the last time,
  • 54:34and then they they will
  • 54:36add on to it if
  • 54:36they can.
  • 54:39Thank you. And then our
  • 54:40final question
  • 54:41is, does the student get
  • 54:43access separate or a separate
  • 54:45login,
  • 54:46for them to access the
  • 54:48platform
  • 54:49and search through the resources?
  • 54:53You know what? I will
  • 54:54get I can get back
  • 54:55to you on that one
  • 54:56just because whenever,
  • 54:59my son and I or
  • 55:00us as a family
  • 55:01would go in to research
  • 55:03information
  • 55:04or, speak to a college
  • 55:05coach, we were all in
  • 55:06the same room. So it
  • 55:07was always my login. So
  • 55:09I never really had him
  • 55:10log in separately or my
  • 55:12husband log in separately.
  • 55:14So,
  • 55:15I will find out, and
  • 55:16I can get back to
  • 55:17you. Is that okay, Jessica?
  • 55:19That is. But we'll we
  • 55:20will share that answer with
  • 55:21the group. Okay. Thank you.
  • 55:23If there aren't any more
  • 55:25questions,
  • 55:27then everyone gets, you know,
  • 55:29three minutes back
  • 55:31to prepare for their next
  • 55:33meeting, maybe go to the
  • 55:34restroom or grab a snack.
  • 55:37Thank you again for joining
  • 55:39us. It was a great
  • 55:39session.
  • 55:41Again, we will share everything
  • 55:43out to everyone,
  • 55:45and, hopefully, we could do
  • 55:46this again next
  • 55:50year.
