INFORMATION FOR

    Global Health Spark Award

The Global Health Spark Award (up to $10,000) was created to support YIGH-affiliated faculty as they identify, coordinate, and/or prepare for global health work. The awards are intended to “spark” a larger scope of work. For example, this could include preparation and submission of a proposal for a larger grant opportunity or catalyzing a sustainable scope of work that contributes to the career development of YIGH-affiliated faculty. Applicants must have a current Yale faculty appointment and be a YIGH faculty affiliate. Applications should be understandable to readers without specialized expertise in the applicant’s field/specialty. YIGH will accept one application per person per review cycle. Complete applications are reviewed by a faculty committee and include both quantitative and qualitative review. Efforts will be made to avoid conflicts of interest in the review process. Criteria for review include four categories: innovation, feasibility, sustainability, and connection between the “spark” and the anticipated outcome(s). We encourage applicants who were not funded in a given round to consider resubmitting in the next round.

    FAQ

Yes. Please contact Mike Skonieczny for more information about the benefits and requirements to become a YIGH affiliated faculty member.

Are projects required to have an international or non-US focus?

    Who are the reviewers?

YIGH-affiliated faculty from across campus serve on the application review committee.
