Nakul R. Raval, PhD, postdoctoral associate in the Yale Department of Psychiatry, has been honored with three travel awards for presentations at conferences in 2025.
- Raval has been selected to receive an Early Career Investigator Travel Award for the Brain & Brain PET 2025 conference June 1-4 in Seoul, South Korea. He will present “Lower Synaptic Density in Adults with Alcohol Use Disorder: Quantification with [11C]UCB-J PET.” The award is sponsored by the International Society for Cerebral Blood Flow & Metabolism. Additionally, he will present two other studies that include: “Synaptic Density Is Lower in Virally Suppressed People with HIV: Cross-sectional and Longitudinal [11C]UCB-J PET” and “In Vivo Quantification of NMDA-GluN2B Receptor Occupancy by Ifenprodil in Nonhuman Primates Using (S)-[18F]OF-NB1 PET.”
- Raval was chosen to be an Enoch Gordis Award finalist for the Research Society on Alcohol Annual Meeting 2025 June 21-25 in New Orleans. He will present a talk and poster on his research June 23.
- Raval’s research, “Quantification of NMDA GluN2B Receptors Occupancy by ifenprodil in Nonhuman Primates Using (S)-[18F]OF-NB1 PET,” was selected for presentation during the Young Investigator Award Session at the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Annual Meeting 2025 June 21-24 in New Orleans.
Raval’s research focuses on the systematic development and evaluation of radioligands for brain PET imaging. His expertise spans both in vitro and in vivo translational assessments of these novel compounds, with a primary focus on understanding the neurobiology of alcohol use disorder.
