Abridge AI Consent Requirements
Effective April 3, explicit patient consent is no longer required before using Abridge AI during in-person visits, though it remains a best practice. However, for any telehealth or telephone encounter, providers must continue to obtain explicit patient consent before recording.

Changes to YNHH Medical Staff Bylaws
The YNHH Medical Executive Committee has proposed changes to board recertification requirements, consult responsibilities in ambulatory settings, and medical staff officer composition. Active medical staff members can submit feedback through April 26.

Enjoy GME Wellness Week!
GME Wellness Week runs April 20–May 1, featuring a full slate of activities and events organized by the Wellness Council and the Yale Resident Fellow Council. A Department of Surgery night out is also being planned for early May. Invitations will be shared next week.

New Space Request Process
The new Administrative Service Request Portal streamlines the submission process for administrative, clinical, and research space requests and eliminates the need to send emails for approvals. Access and bookmark the link on MyYSM.

New to Zoom: Live Captioning
Yale’s enterprise Zoom license has been updated to include expanded meeting capacity for up to 500 participants, along with live translated captions. Meeting hosts can access this feature during a meeting by selecting Options > Captions.

YSS Resident Research Awards
The Yale Surgical Society invites all residents to submit their best work from AY25-26. Two abstracts will be awarded $1,000 to support trainees' continued development. Submissions are due April 20.
