Pediatric Health Services and Implementation Research

The Yale Program in Pediatric Health Services and Implementation Research is a community of faculty and staff across the health professional schools dedicated to transforming child health by bridging discovery and practice. We conduct innovative, policy-relevant research, train the next generation of leaders, and partner with communities and health systems to ensure that every child receives high-quality, equitable, and evidence-based care.

About Us

The Yale Program in Pediatric Health Services and Implementation Research (HSIR) seeks to improve the health and well-being of children, adolescents, and families by generating rigorous, actionable evidence and advancing the implementation of effective, efficient, and equitable care. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, innovative research, and partnership with patients, communities, clinicians, and health systems, we aim to accelerate the translation of evidence into practice, reduce disparities, and strengthen child health systems locally, nationally, and globally. Our commitment is to provide robust training opportunities and to bridge the gap between aspiring researchers and active HSIR projects, driving excellence in pediatric health services and implementation research.

To support HSIR-focused researchers at Yale whose scholarship relates to the health and well-being of children and families, we run a monthly Works-in-Progress seminar. We bring in experts to discuss resources available, both internal and external to Yale, to support teams focused on HSIR scholarship. We also manage a Pediatric HSIR listserv, which to date has provided multiple opportunities both for additional HSIR training and to connect trainees with research teams looking to hire.
