Time to Replace Your Yale ID Card

As part of Yale University’s commitment to maintaining and enhancing university infrastructure, and prioritizing safety and security for the community, the Operations team will be rolling out new ID cards.

If your ID card shows an issue date of on or before July 1, 2025, you need a new one, and your current badge will be deactivated on Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Pickup Location for Yale School of Medicine (YSM) Employees

Please pick up your new badge at the ID Center, 57 Lock St., by Monday, Feb. 16.

    Pickup Information

    • No appointment is required
    • Please bring your current Yale ID card with you
    • No photos will be taken

    Additional Information

    • Existing Yale ID cards will stop working in campus buildings on Feb. 17.
    • For individuals receiving new ID cards, building access will resume within 15 minutes of activation.
    • Avoid storing your new ID card on the back of your phone. Magnetic and wireless phone chargers can damage your card.
    • If you use an adhesive phone pocket to store your card, you may see Apple Pay display when you hold your phone to the door reader. This is expected behavior, and the reader does not access personal information.
    • You may experience a temporary delay when releasing print jobs with your new ID card. Use your Yale CAS login credentials to release print jobs during this time.
