In my first few weeks as chair of the Department of Internal Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, I have truly enjoyed meeting many of you.

As I settle into my new role, I am excited to listen to you, learn from you, and bounce ideas off of you. I hope to engage communities within the department—including educators, researchers, and clinicians in different sections with different skill sets—as well as communities beyond the department and YSM to discuss goals and solutions at a time when medicine has so much promise to impact our patients' lives.

Working together is not only productive but also fun. I look forward to getting to know you and your hopes, concerns, and dreams in the coming weeks and months.

The Department of Medicine’s Epic and Billing intranet pages have MANY helpful resources, designed specifically for you. Whether you are an audio or visual learner or prefer written instructions, we’ve got you covered!

We have worked with physicians and focus groups in our department to ensure that the materials developed by the department’s Clinical Affairs Epic and Billing Education teams are simple to follow. We strongly encourage you to take a few minutes to look at the intranet site and check out the content. Be sure to bookmark the department website to have ready access to the content when you need it!

Billing Resource

Review helpful billing and coding training video modules, created with your Department of Internal Medicine role in mind. These speak to many common and specific scenarios that occur within our clinical department. Resources are divided into five training categories: billing and coding basics, ambulatory, hospital care, specialty-specific ambulatory E&M, and specialty-specific hospital care E&M.
