Dinner Meetings

The administrative leadership at each institution comes together 3 times a year for YAHP Dinner Meetings, which rotate from affiliate to affiliate. The host program is responsible for a presentation, highlighting recent activities at their institution and within their residency program. YAHP business items are also discussed.

Working Groups

Over the past year, the enormous potential of the YAHP to grow beyond its current framework has been discussed intensively by the member institutions. Specifically, Working Groups are currently being formed for collaborative research projects targeting important questions in resident education as well as clinical projects aimed at quality improvement in patient care. These interactions will further solidify the nature of this unique relationship, and expand it into areas of investigation and patient care.

Please contact Dr. Silvio Inzucchi for more information.

Annual Retreat

A day-long YAHP Educational Retreat is conducted annually, typically devoted to a specific topic important to residency education and training. At the retreat, a national speaker is invited to address the group, and faculty and residents from member institutions also present their latest research. Active discussion always ensues, and this has been an excellent forum over the years for the interchange of ideas.

In 2006, the Yale Affiliated Hospitals Program celebrated its 30th Anniversary. To commemorate this important milestone, the Department of Internal Medicine sponsored a symposium on the future of medical education in the 21st century. This symposium brought together leaders in medical education and included several panel discussions.
