As spring arrives—my first in New Haven—I'm energized by the innovative ideas many of you have shared. With record snowfall behind us and warmer weather ahead, my thoughts have turned toward possibilities and progress.
The department’s spirit of innovation is evident in many of our clinical initiatives, including programs that help older adults at risk of falls, bring HIV care directly to communities, and care for homeless people who cannot be discharged home. This innovation is also evident in how we identify unmet needs in patient populations and in our ideas for addressing them. Our department has leading expertise across multiple disciplines, and by connecting with one another and finding where synergies occur, we can greatly expand what we do for our patients.
As we start thinking about next steps, let’s discuss ways to find synergistic solutions and turn your ideas into action. I am grateful for your insight and input. Happy spring!
