As part of the department’s mission to train the next generation of leaders in medicine, we equip our trainees with exemplary skills and attitudes for a life's work in medicine. Our emphasis on creativity, excellence, and patient-focused skill development has helped the department achieve numerous recognitions and awards at the local and national levels. We are genuinely proud of these accomplishments, which many of you have seen highlighted in our communications.
Some of the challenges we face in education were brought up at our last faculty meeting. To prepare our students to thrive as future physicians, we must expand their skills, approach the rapidly evolving field of AI with critical thinking, and provide continuity between learners and faculty members to enable optimal feedback. Thanks to many of you, we are already taking steps in these directions.
These ongoing discussions are crucial to ensuring that we continue to provide the highest level of education. I encourage you to keep sharing your ideas.
P.S. As a reminder, faculty meetings are recorded and posted on our Intranet.
