What is your role in the Department of Internal Medicine?

I am a research associate with the Clinical and Translation Research Accelerator in the Section of Nephrology. As a research associate, I play a key role in the development, implementation, and oversight of various research studies. My responsibilities include initiating and coordinating new studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and managing the day-to-day operations of ongoing research projects. I collaborate closely with principal investigators and postgraduate associates to ensure study protocols are followed, data is accurately collected and maintained, and milestones are met on schedule.

Why did you decide to work at Yale School of Medicine?

I first started at Yale as a new college graduate passionate about research in exercise science, obesity, and pediatric health. My role as program coordinator and exercise specialist of Pediatric Endocrinology's Bright Bodies program integrated physical activity, nutrition, and behavior modification in a research environment.

Have you been involved in any projects you are particularly proud of?

I am incredibly proud of the early work I did with the Bright Bodies Weight Management Program. I was able to witness firsthand the profound impact that education and physical activity can have on children’s lives. Over the 14 years I spent with the program, we saw remarkable transformations—children with type 2 diabetes coming off insulin, significant reductions in BMI, and, perhaps most inspiring, a visible boost in their confidence as they embraced healthier lifestyles.

What do you enjoy about working at Yale?

Over the course of more than 20 years at Yale, I’ve had the opportunity to work within three distinct departments, each offering unique challenges and rewards. I value the variety and diversity each position brought as well as the professional development each role offered.

What are your favorite pastimes?

My favorite pastimes include trail running, reading, and spending time with family.
