Dear GHEDP Colleagues,
There have been so many disheartening cuts in funding from the US government – one of the largest cuts, at least to this point, has been in global HIV efforts. There is much work being done to advocate for restoring funding and maintaining our commitments, especially to PEPFAR which supports 20+ million people with HIV globally. Please see this virtual tool that may be helpful to you in your ongoing work: https://pepfar.impactcounter.com/ (The development of this tool is described here in JIAS: Rapid development of an online tracker to communicate the human impact of abruptly halting PEPFAR support)
There are also tools that have been developed to track the immediate and long term impact of USAID funding cuts on global TB. If there are other tools that may be useful to the global health community, please let us know.
