Robert D. Kerns, PhD, professor emeritus and senior research scientist in psychiatry, has been elected chair of the Board of Directors of A Place to Nourish Your Health (APNH), a nonprofit in New Haven.
The term will be for two years beginning in October 2025.
Formerly AIDS Project New Haven, APNH is in its 42nd year serving the Greater New Haven community. Its 16 staff members and contract medical, substance abuse, and mental health providers work with hundreds of volunteers to provide services to clients.
According to its website, APNH’s vision “is a community where everyone has access to high quality, relationship-based, holistic care to inspire health and well-being and to empower people at risk of, or impacted by, HIV, substance use, mental illness and related conditions.”
Kerns currently serves as vice chair of the board of APNH.
