Mary Best, PhD

Mary Best, PhD, is a child psychologist who specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry. She works with children and teens experiencing emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges, providing thorough assessments and treatment plans tailored to each individual's needs. Best helps young patients manage issues such as anxiety, mood disorders, attention difficulties, and learning differences, using age-appropriate therapies and support strategies to promote well-being and development.

As an assistant professor of child psychology at Yale School of Medicine, Best is involved in research to better understand childhood mental health concerns and improve strategies for early diagnosis and treatment. Her work aims to support children and families by developing more effective assessment tools and therapeutic approaches.

Best received her doctoral training from Hahnemann University, followed by an internship and postdoctoral fellowship in the Child Study Center at Yale School of Medicine.
