The Department of Anesthesiology, founded in 1968, quickly established itself as a national leader in academics as well as in clinical care and resident education. Over the past five decades, we have grown dramatically both in the volume and scope of our anesthetic practice. That growth coincides with a concurrent expansion of both our medical education programs and our research activities in the basic, translational and clinical realms
Chair's Welcome Residency Training Program The aim of the Residency Training Program is to enable each resident to develop his or her skills to the highest capacity. We accomplish this by providing an in-depth didactic program, a wide variety of clinical experiences and outstanding teaching and mentorship.

When and How to Escalate to Mechanical Circulatory Support

Cardiogenic shock is a high risk clinical syndrome that requires timely recognition and structured decision making to guide escalation of therapy. This activity will explore contemporary strategies for the assessment and management of cariogenic hock with an emphasis on mechanical circulatory support.
