DESCRIPTION:Event Description: As climate-related disasters\, extreme heat
\, and shifting disease patterns increasingly strain our health systems\,
understanding how to build adaptive\, equitable responses is more urgent
than ever. This discussion will explore how research\, governance\, and
community action can together bolster public health resilience in the fac
e of climate change. Speaker Bios: • Anita Chandra is the Distinguished C
hair in American Social Policy and Senior Principal Policy Researcher at
RAND\, and Professor of Policy Analysis at RAND School of Public Policy.
Dr. Chandra leads research on community health\, resilience\, and civic w
ell-being\, with a focus on how societies can adapt to and recover from s
ystemic challenges such as climate change and disasters. Her work has inf
ormed federal and local strategies for public health preparedness and equ
ity. She received her Dr.P.H. from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Publ
ic Health. • Kai Chen is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology for Yale
School of Public Health\, Co-Faculty Director for Yale Center on Climate
Change and Health\, and Affiliated Faculty for Yale Institute for Global
Health. Dr. Chen’s research examines the health impacts of climate change
and air pollution\, particularly on vulnerable populations. His work use
s advanced data analytics to assess exposure risks and develop policies t
hat mitigate climate-related health burdens globally. He received his Ph.
 D. in Environmental Science and Engineering from Nanjing University. Part
