  • 00:00Good afternoon, and welcome.
  • 00:02It's my distinct pleasure to,
  • 00:05introduce our host, Dean Nancy
  • 00:07Brown, who, has gracefully,
  • 00:10allowed us to have the
  • 00:11fall,
  • 00:12dean workshop,
  • 00:15this year.
  • 00:16Doctor. Brown graduated from Yale
  • 00:18College and earned her medical
  • 00:20degree from Harvard University.
  • 00:22She completed internship and residency
  • 00:24programs in medicine at Vanderbilt.
  • 00:27And she did a fellowship
  • 00:28there in clinical pharmacology
  • 00:30and then became the first
  • 00:31woman to chair the Department
  • 00:32of Medicine there.
  • 00:35Her work, her research has
  • 00:37focused on cardiovascular pharmacology, particularly
  • 00:39mechanism of blood pressure and
  • 00:40diabetes drugs.
  • 00:42After chairing medicine at Vanderbilt,
  • 00:44she joined in twenty twenty,
  • 00:46she became in twenty twenty
  • 00:47the first woman to hold
  • 00:48the position of Jean and
  • 00:49David Wallace Dean of Medicine
  • 00:51at Yale. She's also the
  • 00:52CNH long professor of internal
  • 00:54medicine
  • 00:55at Yale School of Medicine.
  • 01:03Well, it's a real
  • 01:05pleasure to be here and
  • 01:06to see how full this
  • 01:07room is. And,
  • 01:09wanna say, first of all,
  • 01:11thanks to George and,
  • 01:14his team, Kelly,
  • 01:17Chi, Dustin, and,
  • 01:19Zenos,
  • 01:20and
  • 01:21for all that you're doing.
  • 01:22And also
  • 01:23day two for,
  • 01:25doctor Whitlow who's,
  • 01:28here. And,
  • 01:30but importantly, this is a
  • 01:31room filled with people
  • 01:33from many disciplines,
  • 01:36not
  • 01:37all in radiology,
  • 01:38and it speaks to the
  • 01:40importance of imaging across,
  • 01:43both our research mission and
  • 01:45our,
  • 01:47and our patient care. And
  • 01:50I note that there are
  • 01:52even
  • 01:52architects and informaticians
  • 01:55in the room.
  • 01:56And so,
  • 01:58it this is all very
  • 02:00exciting.
  • 02:01You will hear from a
  • 02:03number of scientists and clinicians
  • 02:05in
  • 02:06brain, heart, cancer,
  • 02:09image gated data guided therapies
  • 02:12and,
  • 02:13data sciences.
  • 02:15We're mixing it up a
  • 02:16little bit today because after
  • 02:17the first round of presentations,
  • 02:19there's a poster session, there's
  • 02:21a panel
  • 02:23discussing,
  • 02:25led by imaging intensive department
  • 02:27leaders.
  • 02:28And
  • 02:31the hope
  • 02:32of this day is that
  • 02:33it will catalyze
  • 02:35collaborations,
  • 02:36that you'll learn about something
  • 02:38going on that you didn't
  • 02:38know about,
  • 02:40and,
  • 02:42and you'll solve a problem
  • 02:44for the world that needed
  • 02:45solving. So,
  • 02:46welcome.
