- 00:02It's my distinct pleasure to,
- 00:05introduce our host, Dean Nancy
- 00:07Brown, who, has gracefully,
- 00:10allowed us to have the
- 00:11fall,
- 00:12dean workshop,
- 00:15this year.
- 00:16Doctor. Brown graduated from Yale
- 00:18College and earned her medical
- 00:20degree from Harvard University.
- 00:22She completed internship and residency
- 00:24programs in medicine at Vanderbilt.
- 00:27And she did a fellowship
- 00:28there in clinical pharmacology
- 00:30and then became the first
- 00:31woman to chair the Department
- 00:32of Medicine there.
- 00:35Her work, her research has
- 00:37focused on cardiovascular pharmacology, particularly
- 00:39mechanism of blood pressure and
- 00:40diabetes drugs.
- 00:42After chairing medicine at Vanderbilt,
- 00:44she joined in twenty twenty,
- 00:46she became in twenty twenty

- 01:03Well, it's a real
- 01:05pleasure to be here and
- 01:06to see how full this
- 01:07room is. And,
- 01:09wanna say, first of all,
- 01:11thanks to George and,
- 01:14his team, Kelly,
- 01:17Chi, Dustin, and,
- 01:19Zenos,
- 01:20and
- 01:21for all that you're doing.
- 01:22And also
- 01:23day two for,
- 01:25doctor Whitlow who's,
- 01:28here. And,
- 01:30but importantly, this is a
- 01:31room filled with people
- 01:33from many disciplines,
- 01:36not
- 01:37all in radiology,
- 01:38and it speaks to the
- 01:40importance of imaging across,
- 01:43both our research mission and
- 01:45our,
- 01:47and our patient care. And
- 01:50I note that there are
- 01:52even
- 01:52architects and informaticians
- 01:55in the room.
- 01:56And so,
- 01:58it this is all very
- 02:00exciting.
- 02:01You will hear from a
- 02:03number of scientists and clinicians
- 02:05in
- 02:06brain, heart, cancer,
- 02:09image gated data guided therapies
- 02:12and,
- 02:13data sciences.
- 02:15We're mixing it up a
- 02:16little bit today because after
- 02:17the first round of presentations,
- 02:19there's a poster session, there's
- 02:21a panel
- 02:23discussing,
- 02:25led by imaging intensive department
- 02:27leaders.
- 02:28And
- 02:31the hope
- 02:32of this day is that
- 02:33it will catalyze
- 02:35collaborations,
- 02:36that you'll learn about something
- 02:38going on that you didn't
- 02:38know about,
- 02:40and,
- 02:42and you'll solve a problem
- 02:44for the world that needed
- 02:45solving. So,
- 02:46welcome.
