    Biography

Sophia Ruser is a newly graduated alumna of Cornell University. In her undergraduate studies, she worked in the IvanekLab, where she led a national study on raw milk consumption and helped build a digital library to make food safety tools more accessible. She has co-authored publications, presented at research conferences, and developed resources that blend public health, behavior, and technology. In the Ithaca community, she founded Restorative Rhythms, a music group that performs weekly at a local senior home, and helped create ESL and culinary training programs for refugee and immigrant communities in New Haven. She also served as president of the Persian Students Organization, where she organized cultural events and fundraisers to build community and celebrate heritage. She closely mentored students around the country as an Ignite Fellow with Teach for America over the last two years. This year, she will be doing clinical research at Yale New Haven Hospital on scleroderma in the Department of Rheumatology.
