    Biography

    Dr. Namrata Krishnan, MBBS is a graduate of Lady Hardinge Medical School in New Delhi, India. She completed her M.B.B.S in December 2000. She scored the highest ranking as a final year medical student and won numerous awards for her outstanding academic achievements. She did her Internal Medicine Residency at University of Connecticut Medical Center and subsequently did her Nephrology fellowship training at Washington University Medical Center/ Barnes Jewish Hospital, St Louis, MO from 2005-2007. She joined University of Massachusetts Medical center in 2007 as faculty where she focused on general and transplant nephrology. She went on to join Yale School of Medicine in the year 2010. She is currently an Associate Professor in the section of Nephrology at Yale, and is based at the VA hospital in West haven, CT. She is the Yale and UCONN Nephrology fellowship site director at the VA. She has developed a multidisciplinary nephrology-palliative care program to provide a structured conservative kidney management pathway for veterans at the WHVA. She is a member of National Kidney foundation and American Society of Nephrology education committee and has received the ASN Innovations in Kidney Education award for her innovative E-curriculum in hemodialysis access. Her interests include medical education, E-learning, renal physiology, hemodialysis, renal stones, hypertension and conservative kidney management.
