    Clinical Care

    Overview

Ipshita Vashist, MD, is an internal medicine doctor who cares for adults with a wide range of medical needs. She focuses on the ongoing care of chronic conditions, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of new symptoms and illnesses.

Dr. Vashist provides comprehensive primary care, helping patients manage several health issues at the same time. She evaluates symptoms that may not have an obvious cause, coordinates care with other specialists, and supports patients before and after hospital stays. She also emphasizes prevention, including screening tests and counseling about lifestyle changes that can improve long-term health.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Vashist serves as an assistant professor at Yale School of Medicine and as a medical director for an inpatient medical floor at Yale New Haven Health. In these roles, she is involved in improving hospital-based care and in teaching trainees about the care of adults with complex medical conditions.

Dr. Vashist earned her medical degree from Armed Forces Medical College in India. She completed her residency training in internal medicine at Bronx-Lebanon Medical Center–Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
