    About

    Dr. Levy’s research, leadership of high-impact publications, and volunteer work were recognized with the 2023 AMIA Leadership Award. She aims to improve the humane experience of patient care for health professionals and patients through adept use of technology. She co-led a foundational review defining key terminology for EHR burden and developed a model of health professions trainee EHR burden.

    Biography

    Dr. Levy, an experienced internal medicine physician board certified in clinical informatics, is currently a physician informatician in the Department of Veterans Affairs, and served as a Lecturer in the Department of Biomedical Informatics and Data Science at Yale School of Medicine from 2022-2024. Her research and operational interest is to achieve a more humane experience of medicine for both patients and clinicians, through the adept use of technology. She focuses on identifying and developing opportunities to enhance how health professionals in direct patient care engage with and experience technology including as electronic health record (EHR) burden. She is currently examining how health professionals and health professional trainees experience EHR burden using both qualitative and quantitative methods, and considering approaches that utilize process improvement strategies.
