    Overview

Ameya Krishnan, APRN, is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who cares for children, adolescents, and young adults with emotional and behavioral challenges. She works with patients and their families to address conditions such as anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), tic disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism and related concerns.

Krishnan provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management, often as part of a patient’s broader assessment and treatment team. She collaborates closely with therapists, families, and schools to help young people function better across settings. She aims to create a calm and supportive environment where patients feel safe sharing their experiences and goals. Krishnan is a certified breath-work and meditation instructor and incorporates these techniques into clinical care to support treatment progress for patients and families interested in complementary modalities.

In addition to her clinical work, Krishnan serves as a clinical instructor of child psychiatric nursing at Yale School of Medicine and as an assistant clinical professor at Yale School of Nursing. In these roles, she teaches and mentors trainees who are learning to care for children and adolescents with mental health needs.

Krishnan earned her graduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice and Yale University School of Nursing.
