María Rodríguez Martínez, PhD, MSc, associate professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics and Data Science, has received an R01 award from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health, for approximately $820,000 in first-year funding.
This award supports her project, "Mechanistically Informed Deep Learning to Characterize Autoreactive B Cells in Myasthenia Gravis," which uses advanced computational approaches to better understand the immune mechanisms underlying this neuromuscular disease. The five-year project runs through April 2031.
