    Abdelnour, Burke, Hicks Graduate from YSM Education Scholars Fellowship

    Three Yale Department of Psychiatry faculty graduated from the YSM Education Scholars Fellowship (ESF) on June 4.

    Elie Abdelnour, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry; Catherine Burke, PsyD, assistant professor of psychiatry; and Adrienne Hicks, MD, PhD, assistant professor of psychiatry completed the year-long program, which is sponsored by the Center for Medical Education.

    ESF is a faculty development program designed to train medical school faculty in educational strategies, curriculum/program development, and educational scholarship. Each participant develops a scholarly project while being mentored by faculty trained in educational strategies and scholarship.

    Each fellow is paired with two faculty mentors. Abdelnour’s mentors were Drs. Andres Martin and Brian Fuerhlein, and the title of his poster was "Safety Assessment in the Suicidal Patient; Using Artificial Intelligence to Practice Trainee Skills​."

    Burke’s mentors were Drs. Gretchen Hermes and Allison Ponce. The title of her poster was, “Psych Testing 101: Psychological Assessment for Forensic Psychiatrists.”

    Hicks’ mentors were Dr. Ellen Edens and Kirsten Wilkins. The title of her poster was, “Standardizing the Yale PGY2 Psychiatry Inpatient Rotation."
