Dr. Mazure Receives Bernadine Healy Award for Visionary Leadership in Women’s Health from VCU

On May 2, Virginia Commonwealth University Institute for Women’s Health awarded Carolyn M. Mazure, PhD, the Bernadine Healy Award for Visionary Leadership in Women’s Health – named for the first of only two women ever appointed by the Senate as director of the National Institutes of Health. She is joined by Susan G. Kornstein, MD, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the VCU Institute for Women’s Health, designated a National Center of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In her remarks, Mazure reflected on how women’s health research is now an established field of inquiry that informs treatment and prevention strategies and advances women’s lives.

In mid-May, Dr. Mazure presented an interdisciplinary talk during OB/GYN Research Day. She is joined by Beri Ridgeway, MD, Enterprise Chief of Staff of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Cleveland Clinic.
