Before sharing the department’s latest news, I want to pause and recognize the remarkable people who make so much of what we do possible. Please join me in thanking our outstanding administrative and support staff! You keep us organized, on task, and focused on mission. On behalf of the department, I am deeply grateful for your commitment to Yale Urology and our shared goal of becoming a destination urological center. You are seen and appreciated.
Turning to recent highlights, Yale Urology’s On the Sound Prostate Care Summit brought together community and Yale providers for rich clinical dialogue and education. The featured keynote speaker was Daniel Lin, MD, interim chair of urology at the University of Washington. Nearly 40 attendees enjoyed robust conversations surrounding both benign and malignant prostate concerns, and we look forward to seeing more of you next year in the Greenwich area. Photos of the event are further down in the newsletter.
On the academic front, Marianne Casilla-Lennon, MD’s, proposal to integrate AI as a learning tool in surgical education has been selected for funding by overseers of the AI Course Revision Grant at Yale. This is well-deserved recognition of innovative thinking and continues to position the department prominently in medical education.
