Happy spring, everyone. I’m excited to share that our reputation as dynamic experts in urology continues to grow! This month Timothy Tran, MD, was the Streem Visiting Professor at Albany Medical College where he gave talks on “Learning Curve for Aquablation,” as well as “Tips and Tricks for Ureteroscopy Research.” He also engaged with the residents in journal club and resident case presentations.
Additionally, Su Deng, PhD, was recently selected for a DoD Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) Idea Development Award for her project on “Harnessing Metabolic Dependencies to Reverse Lineage Plasticity and Therapy Resistance in Lethal Prostate Cancer.” This work aims to identify and target transcriptional and metabolic vulnerabilities to overcome therapy resistance in advanced prostate cancer.
Turning to alumni impact, nominations are now being accepted through June 1 for the Robert M. Weiss Distinguished Alumni Award. Please use this online application to nominate an alumnus who embodies the spirit of our department across all three academic missions and has been in practice for at least 10 years.
