Clinical Care
Overview
Tormod Westvik, MD, specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery, performing a comprehensive range of procedures for the body, breast, hand, and face, with a particular interest in nasal surgeries (rhinoplasties). He also provides treatment for skin cancer and performs breast reconstruction surgeries.
“The best part of my job is seeing the smile on people's faces when results are better than expected,” he says. “I am honest and try to never make promises I can't keep. It is important that they know I will be there for them along the way. I spend time communicating, making sure that the patient understands all aspects of the plan."
“Plastic surgery has some of the widest range of procedures and collaborates with all other surgical specialties,” he says. “Results rely on hands-on approach, the ability to solve problems and visualize a plan before executing it.”
An associate professor of surgery at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Westvik obtained his medical degree from the University of Oslo in Norway. He completed his general surgery residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, followed by a plastic surgery residency through the Harvard Combined Plastic Surgery Residency program.
