Clinical staff are reminded to follow best practices for the safe removal of catheters, drains, and other devices to reduce the risk of retained fragments and associated patient safety events.

Epic Upgrade - May 17
The next upgrade to Epic is scheduled for Sunday, May 17. Key updates include:

• A redesigned storyboard view of patient information
• Consolidation of key outpatient documentation tabs
• Streamlined patient-reported vitals and medication reconciliation workflows
• Improved registration checklist automation
• Integrated clinic and OR scheduling views with enhanced filtering

The June 4 program includes keynote speaker Kate Tellers, oral presentations, workshops, and a reception. Advanced registration is required for each session.

Yale Staff Spirit Week will take place June 1-5, with Staff Appreciation Day on Tuesday, June 2, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Old Campus. Handsome Dan will make an encore visit to the department on Thursday, June 11, from 2-3 p.m. in FMB 115.

State of the School

YBBI will celebrate its one-year anniversary on June 2 with keynote speaker Bruce Tromberg, PhD, director of the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering.

New Requirement for Continuing Review Submissions
All continuing review submissions to the Yale IRB, including those with modifications, must include a continuing review progress report.
