1 Minute Read

Michael Lerner, MD, associate professor of surgery (Otolaryngology) at the Yale School of Medicine, was inducted into The Triological Society at the Combined Otolaryngology Spring Meeting held April 22–26 in Phoenix, Ariz. The recognition followed presentation and peer acceptance of his thesis, Health-Related Quality of Life Outcomes Following Botulinum Toxin Treatment for Retrograde Cricopharyngeus Dysfunction: A Pre- and Post-Treatment Analysis. His work focuses on patient-centered outcomes and evaluates treatments that aim to improve functional quality of life.

Ryan Rimmer, MD, assistant professor of surgery (Otolaryngology) at the Yale School of Medicine, was also inducted into The Triological Society at the meeting following acceptance of his thesis, An Imaging-Based Algorithm to Predict Patient-Specific Nasoseptal Flap Length for Sellar Skull Base Reconstruction. His research aims to improve preoperative planning and increase precision in skull base reconstruction. John Kveton, MD, professor of surgery (Otolaryngology), served as the Society sponsor for Rimmer.

Induction into The Triological Society is an honor in otolaryngology. It recognizes Rimmer and Lerner’s contributions to advancing the field through clinical and translational research that improves surgical planning, outcomes, and patient quality of life.
