Recruiting Clinicians - Early Psychosis Training & Monthly Case Consultation

Who: Connecticut based LMHA clinicians and DCF-affiliated OPCC clinicians working with young people experiencing schizophrenia spectrum disorders

What: Early Psychosis Foundations Training + Monthly ECHO Case Consultation Series

Practical, evidence-based training focused on early schizophrenia spectrum disorders
Ongoing, case-based learning with peers and STEP experts
Designed to strengthen practical skills for engaging patients, guiding early treatment, and supporting recovery over time
Free Yale CME / equivalent credits available

When:

Early Psychosis Foundations Training
- May 14 | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Zoom
Monthly STEP-LC Early Psychosis ECHO
- 2nd Thursday of each month |12:00 PM - 1:00 PM |Zoom
- Dates: June 11, July 9, August 13, September 10, October 8, November 12, December 10

Action Needed:

Email Nina.Levine@yale.edu by April 10 to express interest or submit your agencies participants (Name, Email, Role)

→ Each agency is encouraged to designate 2 clinicians

→ If you are outside these groups (LMHAs or OPCCs) but interested, please reach out and we will do our best to accommodate your request or include you in a future cohort

About Us: The Program for Specialized Treatment Early in Psychosis (STEP)

The Program is proud to host the STEP Learning Collaborative. This is a network of clinics across Connecticut that will deliver a Learning Health System for recent-onset schizophrenia spectrum disorders (‘first-episode psychosis’). This System will measure and continuously improve access and quality of healthcare to all individuals with first-episode psychosis, regardless of town of residence or health insurance status.

Our work uses media messaging, community outreach, and academic detailing to publicize the work of the Collaborative and reduce the time from psychosis onset to engagement into care (the Duration of Untreated Psychosis). We will empower stakeholders across all sectors (e.g., educators, first-responders, parents, peers, community activists, clergy) to help us transform pathways to and through care.

We aim to support all affected individuals to live a fulfilling life in their communities. This work is supported by Connecticut’s Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) and Department of Children and Families (DCF).
