The Yale Lived Experience Transformational Leadership Academy—LET(s)Lead— is coming to Connecticut in January 2026.

This internationally recognized program, developed by the Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health, prepares leaders with lived and living experience of mental health challenges, substance use, and trauma to expand their skills, strengthen their voices, and create meaningful community change.

The Connecticut cohort will bring together 15 emerging leaders for an 11-week seminar series covering topics such as transformational leadership, cultural humility, appreciative inquiry, organizational change, grassroots activism, and the power of storytelling in leadership. Following the seminar series, participants will receive five months of mentoring and project support, culminating in a graduation ceremony in September 2026, where graduates will be awarded a Yale LET(s)Lead Academy Certificate.

The program requires a commitment of 4–6 hours per week, including weekly 2-hour seminars and project work. Sessions will be co-sponsored by the Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health and the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS).

Prospective fellows are encouraged to attend ONE of the upcoming virtual information sessions.
