Background on Focus Act Connect Every-day
Focus Act Connect Every-day (FACE) is a collective based in New Haven where everyone is welcome. We are by the people for the people. We are community members with a variety of experiences. Like many people, we are each in recovery from something. Some of us are also artists, activists, and recovery supporters. We are all family members and friends.
We come together for healing and to make a difference in our community. We tune into the struggles people in our community are facing and create opportunities to share our voices, express our concerns, learn to participate, come out of being isolated, make art to beautify the place where we live, and get the support we all need to live a full life. We make large murals at community events, join efforts to solve food insecurity, and provide ongoing support to our members and others. We believe that all of FACE’s work leads to a stronger community for everyone.
We are proud to invite you to our exhibit, We Are All Beautiful: Reflections of our Community, which brings together 10 years of murals created by people in New Haven in partnership with FACE. We have worked with partners in West River, Dwight, the Hill, Fair Haven, Dixwell, and other neighborhoods to produce reflections of the beauty, hope, and struggles in our city. Please add your own unique perspective to the mural we are making during this exhibit.
