The Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health and Winning Ways are expanding access to critical resources for individuals and families navigating recovery, reentry, and trauma.
Community collaboration and academia play a crucial role in addressing complex social issues by combining diverse perspectives and expertise. This partnership fosters innovative solutions that are culturally responsive and tailored to the community's unique needs, ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of programs and services.
By working together, the collaboration between Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health and Winning Ways, a nonprofit organization, fosters empowerment and resilience, guiding individuals on their journeys toward meaningful lives while helping them overcome past trauma.
A key component of this collaboration was the Recovery Finance Project, which offers a Financial Counseling program where community members receive personalized, one-on-one financial coaching from a Certified Financial Counselor (CFC). Through this coaching, participants learn to connect with banks, navigate financial challenges, and set achievable goals, ultimately enhancing their financial literacy and stability.
