A Novel Approach to Treatment for Urinary Incontinence Among Women with Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Volunteers
Health Professionals
What is the purpose of this trial?
We are recruiting participants for an observational research study to see whether GLP-1 agonists, medications like Ozempic and Wegovy used to treat obesity and diabetes, may help to improve urinary incontinence. You may qualify if you are:
- Female, 18+ years old
- Have Type 2 Diabetes
- Have a BMI (body mass index) of 30+
- Leak urine at least once per week
- Your doctor is going to start you on a GLP-1 agonist medication
We will follow women taking these medications over 6 months to see if they have improvements in their urinary symptoms, and/or other aspects of their health. The study will involve 3 in-person visits lasting 30 minutes, and monthly phone calls lasting 10 minutes. You will be offered a $50 gift card after each in-person visit as compensation for participating in this research and parking is validated.
