Dear Colleagues,

A few weeks ago, we held a faculty retreat where we reaffirmed our mission and discussed our identity. We are leaders in women’s health! And more leaders in OB/GYN have come from Yale than any other institution in the world.

We are thinkers and creators who aim to improve the future of reproductive health through advances in clinical care, education, and research. We are visionaries who can see a brighter future. And, we are doers - agents of change who will bring these ideas to fruition. Every employee plays a part. While we may not realize it in the moment, all that we do coalesces into something spectacular!

Our identity is an integral and essential part of us. It is not dependent on our resources. It is what keeps us focused and rewarded during both good times and challenging times. We will continue to advance women’s health in whatever environment we find ourselves.

Yale ObGyn is part of a newly formed specialty services integrated business operations unit or IBO within Yale School of Medicine. Learn more about the organizational changes that went into effect Sept. 1.

The Yale Flu and COVID Vaccine Program provides free vaccinations to all current students, faculty, and staff, regardless of insurance coverage. The following clinics are specifically for the Yale School of Medicine (YSM) community:

Reminder: the flu vaccination is mandatory for all YSM faculty and staff in patient-facing and human research subject-facing positions, including per diem staff. It must be received by Dec. 1.

Emre Seli, MD, appeared on WTNH News8 to discuss when families should seek help with fertility and what to expect.

This summer, the Peter E. Schwartz, MD, Discovery to Cure High School Internship Program welcomed its 23rd group of high school students to campus. The program gives rising high school seniors hands-on experience in a Yale ObGyn research lab.

Applications for the 2026 program will open in January.

A video discussion that captures 30 years of research. Clare Flannery, MD, sat down with Sonia Caprio, MD, professor of pediatrics (endocrinology), to discuss and reflect on Caprio's decades-long research surrounding preteens and teens. Flannery and team are continuing Caprio's groundbreaking research and following many of the same New Haven kids, who are now adults. It's all part of a comprehensive project called the Legacy Collaborative.
