Biography

Stuti is an MD-PhD candidate from Gujarat, India. She graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Cambridge in 2023 with a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering and Biological Engineering, with minors in Chemistry and Economics. While at MIT, Stuti worked with Dr Anikeeva on fabricating multi-functional flexible in-situ neural probe fibers, then with Dr Rouskin uncovering the secondary RNA structure of the SARS-CoV2 genome, and with Dr Li understanding GATA2 mutations in the development of AML/MDS hematopoetic cancers. Post graduation until 2025, Stuti worked in Dr Jonathan Weissman's lab at the Whitehead Institute with Dr Levine on ribosome biogenesis and degradation using CRISPRi screens, and with Dr Luo on localized translation modalities for mitochondrial proteins. Stuti aims to continue using novel molecular tools to make strides with a focus on neurodegeneration across model systems with an outlook towards bridging gaps between disease and symptom cures during her MD-PhD training at Yale. In the big picture, Stuti is passionate about using biological insights in vitro, in vivo and in silico to make an impact on pressing issues in healthcare diagnostics, therapeutics, delivery and equity as a physician-scientist in training.
