PA Program Faculty, Students, and Alumni Present at ConnAPA

Faculty, students, and alumni from the Physician Associate (PA) Program recently presented at the Connecticut Academy of PAs' (ConnAPA) Charter Oak Conference, held March 22–24, 2026, at the Water’s Edge Resort and Spa in Westbrook, Conn.

Faculty

Katherine Woodlee, MS, PA-C, assistant professor in the Physician Associate Program, and Tara Herbert, MS, PA-C, assistant professor of medicine (Physician Associate Program), facilitated a hands-on workshop on point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS).

Jonathan Weber, MA, PA-C, assistant professor in the Physician Associate Program, presented a lecture entitled "Cutting edge collaborative excellence: Best practice resources for diabetes care."

Students

Kate Gannon, PA-SII, Leigh Paradis, PA-SII, and Meghan Lindsay, PA-SI, presented case study posters from their work in the anatomy lab.

Brandon Hammond, PA-SII, presented a poster based on original research from his alternative thesis project.

Six students from the PA Class of 2027 and two students from the PA Class of 2026 received scholarships from the Connecticut PA Foundation (CTPAF) during the annual business meeting.

Alumni

Lauren Collin, MMSc, PA-C '15, presented a lecture entitled "Breath taking updates: What's new in COPD."

Gary Spinner, DMSc, PA-C '83, presented a lecture entitled "Defending public health in a time of adversity: Lessons from the HIV/AIDS epidemic."
