DESCRIPTION:The Hunger and Homelessness auction is an annual YSM tradition
  dating back to 1993. It began as a silent auction in the Harkness ballro
 om and has since become an event that everyone looks forward to each year
 . All proceeds from the auction go towards organizations working to allev
 iate issues of food and housing insecurity. Rallying behind this cause\, 
 many people from the Yale community donate to the auction in different wa
 ys to help put on the event. The proceeds from this year's auction will b
 enefit the following organizations: Community Soup Kitchen : a long-stand
 ing New Haven nonprofit that provides free\, nutritious meals year-round 
 to anyone in need\, fostering dignity\, respect\, and food security for N
 ew Haven residents experiencing hunger.Unhoused Activists Community Team 
 (U-ACT) : A grassroots group led by unhoused and formerly unhoused indivi
 duals advocating for humane policies\, basic rights\, and systemic change
  for people experiencing homelessness in New Haven.Good Neighbors Communi
 ty Fund: Supports local New Haven organizations through community-driven 
 funding that addresses urgent basic needs such as food access and housing
  stability. Community Health Care Van: Delivers low-barrier medical\, pre
 ventive\, and harm-reduction services directly to underserved communities
  through mobile and neighborhood-based care.Christian Community Action (C
 CA): A faith-based nonprofit providing food\, housing support\, and crisi
 s assistance to individuals and families working toward stability and ind
