1 Minute Read

The management team of the Partnership for Early Education Research (PEER) is excited to announce an important leadership transition: Joanna Meyer has assumed the role of Director. Dr. Mike Strambler will continue to serve on the PEER management team as Co-director.

Dr. Strambler said, "Joanna joined PEER in 2014, right after it was established, and has demonstrated exceptional knowledge of early childhood education and exemplary leadership skills throughout her 11 years with the partnership. Her deep understanding of ECE policy and practice, combined with her unwavering commitment to collaborative research, has been instrumental in advancing PEER's mission."

The PEER Management Team has confidence in Meyer's ability to lead PEER in continuing to build early childhood research capacity in Connecticut. Partnership has always been at the heart of PEER’s work, and Meyer embodies this principle in everything she does—from her collaborative approach with our state agency partners to her work with communities across Connecticut.

This leadership structure positions PEER to continue its core mission of conducting rigorous, collaborative, actionable research that informs early childhood education policy and practice at the local and state levels. Through its partnerships, PEER remains committed to increasing access to high-quality early care and education for children from birth through age 8.
