Bridgeport Hospital Psychiatry Department Wins Award for Inpatient Care

1 Minute Read

Bridgeport Hospital’s Psychiatric Inpatient Care Department has been honored with the ACT Differently Award from the Anderson Center for Autism in New York.

The award is given to an individual or organization who stands out from the crowd, personally embodying the incredibly impactful purpose behind Think Differently. It’s an initiative that aims to change how individuals, businesses and organizations interact with people of all abilities.

Bridgeport Hospital was nominated by one of the Anderson Center’s nursing supervisors, who worked with the hospital when one of its students was hospitalized this spring. The nomination read, “In every respect, Bridgeport Hospital exemplifies excellence in healthcare. It has been a privilege to work with such a dedicated and professional team.”

The nominator wrote that she experienced the highest level of professionalism from the initial contact with the person answering the phone to the attending physician and staff who addressed every question and concern.

"We are deeply honored to receive this recognition from the Anderson Center for Autism," said Peter Morgan, MD, chair of psychiatry at Bridgeport Hospital. "This award reflects the tireless work of so many dedicated professionals who believe that every individual deserves access to compassionate care."
